Half Cut is a recycled glassware project by David McPhee, based in Oban.

I take empty bottles that are destined for landfill and turn them into one-of-a-kind drinking glasses, each one cut, sanded and polished by hand. It’s about giving something a second lease of life and creating a pretty cool gift in the process.

Half Cut is a small recycled glassware project based in Oban (Dunbeg). We take empty bottles and turn them into one-of-a-kind drinking glasses, each one cut, sanded and polished by hand.

Yes. Each glass is carefully sanded and polished by hand to create a smooth drinking edge before it is sold. I put a lot of effort, and elbow grease, into ensuring the edges are smooth and safe.

We will work quickly to ship your order as soon as possible. Once your order has shipped, you will receive an email with further information. Delivery times vary depending on your location.

We currently offer UK delivery only. Each glass is carefully wrapped and packed before being posted.

Although we coat paper labels with a waterproof sealer, we recommend hand washing your glass, especially if it has a label, printed detail or decorative finish. This helps keep it looking its best for longer.
